Ingredients

  • 2 Skinless Salmon Filets
  • 1 Tbsp Canola Oil
  • 1/4 Cup Orange Juice
  • 2 Tbsp Honey
  • 2 Tbsp Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 Orange, sliced for serving

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine orange juice, honey, and soy sauce.
  • Pat the salmon filets dry and sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper on one side.
  • Add canola oil to a skillet and heat on medium-high heat.
  • Once the oil is hot, sear the salmon filets on one side for 3-4 minutes, or until it develops a nice crust. Flip and repeat on the other side.
  • Add the orange juice mixture to the skillet and stir well to make sure the sauce is fully combined. Turn the heat down to a simmer and cook for 1-3 minutes, or until the sauce has reduced by half.
  • Check the salmon for doneness. Continue simmering if not done. If finished, flip the salmon in the skillet a couple of times to fully coat in the sauce.
  • If the salmon is not done and the sauce has reduced too far, add 1 tbsp to ¼ cup of water and stir to combine, then continue cooking. This can be repeated as many times as you need until the salmon is done.
  • Serve with wild rice and a side salad.

Why try this salmon?

Orange juice and soy sauce glazed salmon is a delicious dish that combines sweet, tangy, and salty flavors. The salmon is pan fried in a hot skillet until crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Then, it is coated with a simple glaze made of orange juice, soy sauce, and honey. The glaze caramelizes on the salmon, creating a sticky and glossy finish. I served mine with wild rice and a fresh salad.

I also have a recipe for salmon and kale salad.   I love to make this in the summer with fresh kale from my garden.
